Sustainability

Every São Swim bikini is made from Carvico Vita, an Italian swimwear fabric made with ECONYL® regenerated nylon.

What is ECONYL®?

ECONYL® is made from nylon waste that would otherwise end up in landfill or the ocean, such as old fishing nets and fabric scraps.

It's cleaned and turned back into new yarn that's as good as brand-new nylon, and it can be recycled again and again.

Certified and made to last

Our fabric is made in Italy and certified to the Global Recycled Standard (GRS). That means its recycled content is independently checked, from the raw waste right through to the finished fabric.

It's 78% ECONYL® regenerated nylon and 22% elastane. It's soft and stretchy, and it's resistant to sun cream, chlorine and salt water. It holds its shape and colour season after season, so your bikini lasts longer and doesn't need replacing every summer.

Our promise

We're not perfect, and we won't pretend to be. As a small brand, we make in small batches to avoid overproduction. Every order is sent in a recycled mailer, with a waterproof, reusable bag for your bikini.

As we grow, we'll keep looking for better materials and better ways of working, and we'll always be honest with you about where we are.
